Summary from C.J. Cherryh's Fiction
Location
C.J. Cherryh's novel, Wave without a Shore, is situated on the planet Freedom, which is apparently visited by the Mazianni. Freedom appears to be located in the 40 (Omicron2) Eridani 3 system about 16.5 light-years from Earth. The star system is composed of a orange-red dwarf (K1V) star that is separated from a red dwarf (M4.5Ve) star by about 420 times the Earth-Sun distance (AU), but the red dwarf has a companion white dwarf (DA4 or A4VII), stellar remnant located at about 45 AU away, which is just a little farther than Pluto's average distance from the Sun.
Chronology
